I am refinancing with a different lender. My current lender refuses to furnish Verification of Mortgage- they contend it is because we filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the past. This was eight years ago. This DID NOT include our mortgage. We always paid and have also been on time for the past several years. What can I do? Thank you.

You should be able to go back to your original Bankruptcy filing paperwork and the property should be listed.  If it not surrendered and you have been making payments to the mortgage company then they have to verify.

what is the lender requiring? is your mortgage reporting to credit?
